Spanish Labor Day, Bad Weather

Knowing that the weather would be bad on this day, we stayed up late the night before, planning to spend the shorter day shopping to avoid the cold/rain.

Part of this plan was smart; the weather was in fact rainy and cold. However, we didn’t realize that Spanish labor day was today, so nearly all of the shops, including most of the grocery stores, were closed.

Yilinn, Benton, and Elizabeth got coffee/pastries in the old town (even without Allan, we managed to order in Spanish without too many difficulties). Allan and David roamed separately (which is why there isn’t much in this entry about what they did 🤷).

Elizabeth, Yilinn, Benton all walked to the aquarium (it was a nice walk, but ultimately we bailed on the aquarium since it was expensive for the size).

At night, we tried to find an open grocery store, unsuccessfully, so we ended up having to order Uriko burgers (fast food), for dinner on uber eats 🤡. Benton had his weekly Wednesday meeting that goes till 6:30pm ET (so he had to be up until 12:30am on this day). We also had to get up early (leave at 4:45am) the next morning to catch the train. Overall not the most well planned out day.
