Elizabeth + Daidai leave

(After staying up till 4am the night before) David and Elizabeth left around 9:30am to catch flights. Elizabeth flew first class back to the US (thanks Zuck), and David flew to Lisbon to meet up with Yufei (his girlfriend).

The rest of us (Allan, Benton, Yilinn), slept till noon. Once our day started, we acquired some average quality pastries, and Benton found the missing keys from the previous Airbnb in his pants 🤡. The host of the Airbnb was super understanding and let us mail the keys back to her, so we did that. Then, we went to the Botanical gardens Real Jardín Botánico. Originally, we were planning to go to the Museo Nacional del Prado, but lines were long. At the Botanical gardens, there was a pool with a ton of tiny ducks. Ducks were cute, but Andrew’s main question (after seeing a video that Yilinn sent him) was “why is the water disgusting?”

To get back towards the apartment, we took a free city bus (this bus was pretty terrible; no one seemed to have boarded a bus before, and it was hot + cramped). Before work, we went for a quick shopping outing (Benton got a beachy button down and Allan got fun swim trunks + a shirt), and we also got some Korean sandwiches from Revuelto.

At work, Yilinn got successfully unblocked (and also decided to cancel her day off). Allan had also planned to take the day off, and as the 👑 of PTO, decided to keep it as a day off. He spent the first half of the day… working 🤡. Allan did still go explore a pretty nice area of Madrid (Salamanca).

We went back to Takos Al Pastor for dinner (got horchata this time; it was terrible but the tacos were still delicious). After dinner + the last part of work, Yilinn and Benton went for a walk (Benton called his Mom for a bit). During the walk, Yilinn and Benton heard some loud music in the distance, and tried to walk towards it, but never successfully found it. Ended up getting back pretty late + stayed up late after we got back as well.
